No it's not a holiday it's work! No we won't be staying in five star luxury. Yes, we do have to have another set of injections. No we aren't going to the beach! And, yes, we probably end up eating deep fried grasshoppers (again!).

Africa Trip February 2008 - Part 2

From Tanzania we headed to Uganda to visit AMIGOS and the East Africa Coffee Conference.

We got to see for ourselves the great work that AMIGOS are doing in Uganda - working to grow child sponsorship for AIDS orphans to give education and a genuine hope for the future; and developing Kira Farm Training Centre to train orphans in vocational and life skills to give them a sustainable future...

What a great visit to the Machare Farm! A beautiful place to stay in the heart of Africa and see coffee production firsthand: from nursery to planting, crop cultivation and environmental management, harvest, pulping, washing, drying . . . . . and a little bit of drinking too! 
A really encouraging trip with regards to quality of the coffee we're buying and the environmental & social projects that are happening in and around the farm...
